Martin Restores It — premium carpet cleaning and restoration in Baltimore
Owner-operated

Twenty years of knowing what a floor can still become.

James Martin has been cleaning and restoring surfaces since his early twenties — first for commercial contractors across the mid-Atlantic, then for the Baltimore homeowners who kept asking for him by name.

The name isn't marketing. Customers wrote it first — in review after review, they said James didn't just clean the carpet, he restored it. A tile floor a family had already priced out for replacement. A rust ring the last company said was permanent. Twenty-year-old traffic lanes in a rental that needed to turn over by Friday.

That work takes more than a machine. It takes knowing which fiber you're standing on, which chemistry lifts the stain without bleaching the dye, and when color repair beats another pass of extraction. James is IICRC-certified in carpet, upholstery and hard-surface care, and every technician on the truck trains under him before working alone.

Today the crew — James, Terelle, El, Tyrell and Jovan — runs jobs from Havre de Grace to Ellicott City. James still gives most quotes himself, still texts before arrival, and still charges the number he wrote on the estimate.

“We were afraid we would need to replace the tile. But Martin's company restored it in a way that looks brand new — for a very reasonable cost.”

The craft

Sanding teak at 9pm because the deck party is Saturday

A ten-year-old teak dining set came in grey, fuzzy and full of mildew, quoted at three thousand dollars to replace. James brightened it, sanded every rail and slat back to raw grain, and sealed it with marine-grade oil. It went home the same week.

That's the whole business in one job: the thing you were told to throw away is usually just dirty, weathered or torn — and all three of those are fixable by somebody who's willing to do the slow part.
